It's here. Beyonce's full track, officially called "Girls (Who Run The Word)," leaked on the net this evening. And we've got the entire audio of the girl power, dancehall themed track under the jump. Oh, and the director of her video dropped some hints about the visuals as well....
This is reportedly the full track from Beyonce. Some folks are claiming, though, that it's a demo. Sounds like she's going the Euro-dance hall route that's a big trend right now. She's sampling the hit "Pon de Floor" by Major Lazer. The song was produced by Diplo (1/2 of Major Lazer), who also produced Chris Brown's "Look At Me Now" and Santigold and M.I.A.'s albums.
The director of the video for this track, Francis Lawrence, spoke to MTV earlier today and, despite being sworn to secrecy by Mrs. Knowles-Carter, he gave a peek into what we can expect to see:
"I just shot a Beyoncé video at the beginning of this last week, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, which was fun, and I hadn't done a video since 2009," he said, referring to the VMA-winning video for Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance."
Lawrence went on to confirm a few more details about the song, without giving away too much of anything, per B's orders. "The video's for the songs 'Girls'; it's off her new album," he said. "She would probably have me shot if I said anything. ... Some stuff spilled out, but she wasn't happy about it, so I've been sworn to secrecy."
What spilled was some looks from the video, as well as details that there will be lots of dancing in the clip. "It'll be big, it'll probably be one of the bigger Beyoncé music videos ever done," he added. "And, I can say that I think the song is unbelievable."
Girls...we run this mutha....
Looks like we really might just have a Bey swarm this summer. Suh-weeeet!
